Clearfleau demonstrates how food manufacturers turn production residues into renewable energy
Bracknell, 4 May, 2016: Award-winning company Clearfleau, the leading UK-based provider of on-site anaerobic digestion (AD) solutions for food and beverage companies, including Nestlé and Diageo, is exhibiting at Edie Live. Clearfleau’s solution for Lake District Biogas will be showcased in a session on on-site renewable generation on Day 1, 17 May, from 10.00-11.15 in the Onsite Solutions Theatre at the NEC, Birmingham.
Clearfleau has been selected as a UK finalist for the prestigious 2016 European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE). Its current projects are in the dairy, vegetable, and distillery sectors and demonstrate how production residues are a potential source of renewable energy rather than just an unwanted overhead.
Clearfleau’s customers including First Milk’s Lake District Biogas plant, the first ‘cheese gas to grid’ bio-energy project in the UK and Europe based only on cheese production residues, are reducing fossil fuel bills, cutting effluent disposal costs, eliminating off-site residue transport and reducing carbon emissions.
Decentralised energy generation on manufacturing sites is challenging traditional methods of handling both liquid and solid production residues.
