Clearfleau client Nestlé is justifiably proud of their excellent record of generating renewable energy.
As they wrote in a recent blog:
“Climate change is the single greatest environmental challenge of our generation, and we believe that businesses can and must be part of the solution to climate change… we are really proud to be investing in renewable technologies to generate our own green energy in the UK and Ireland.”
We’ve helped them with that by building an on-site Anaerobic Digestion plant at their confectionery factory in Fawdon, near Newcastle. It provides up to 6% of their energy needs from the residues of some well-known sweet brands, such as Rolos, Fruit Pastilles and Toffee Crisp!
Here’s a short film Nestlé made about the plant.
